Pigeons, roadrunners and cuckoos, kingfisher, woodpeckers, parrots, jays and crows make up this category of odds-and-ends. These are generally larger birds that aren't raptors, chickens, or waterbirds. They don't have musical songs. Most are fairly distinctive and familiar--even to non-birders.
