Green-tailed Towhee Pipilo chlorurus
Rare migrant and winter visitor, September through April, throughout Desert, Lowlands, and especially the SW Coastal region. Rare local summer resident, mid May through August, in Mountains region.
Habitat: Montane chaparral, low shrubs.
Best locations: Cuyamaca Peak (only breeding location), Tijuana River Valley.
