Greater Scaup Aythya marila
Rare winter visitor, November through March. Primarily found in Coastal region at the south end of San Diego Bay.
Habitat: Deeper fresh or brackish waters.
Best locations: Bayshore Park (J Street) in Chula Vista, Mission Bay.
Note: Similarity to Lesser Scaup confuses true status.
