The Oostvaarders Plassen is a very unique region in Holland as this land used to be sea. Since it was poldered a lot of special plants and animals had the chance to grow here.
A plant typical for the Oostvaarders plassen is swamp ragworth. Besides this area it's rather rare in Holland.
In the background another typical habitant; a Konik horse.
