These are purebred Eskimo sled dogs. There are probably 30 dogs that are tied down out in the open. One dog is left to run free (it been too long since I was there to remember why). When you visit the dogs, you have to be careful not to get caught by the chain as the dogs run around. They are extremely strong and can quickly knock you down, either by jumping on you in delight or getting whipped by the chain. The dogs are fed daily and the bears come in to try and pick up a few scraps. The bears seem to love playing with the dogs and are very gentle with them.
