Cedar Bridge
It was built in 1883 and is 76 feet long. It is the only bridge in Madison County that is open to vehicles. In Robert James Waller’s novel, The Bridges of Madison County, Cedar Bridge is where Francesca Jones goes to meet Robert Kincaid to help him take photographs.
It was destroyed by an arsonist in 2002 and rebuilt from the original plans using authentic matrials and methods in 2004.
