Canadian Goose with I.D. collar. This female Canada goose was captured on June 16th at Fabyan Forest Preserve. The collaring is a portion of research that is being conducted on Canada geese in the Greater Chicago Metropolitan Area looking at the wintering ecology of these birds and detailing their movements and resource selection. The summer molt collaring allows for a base population of temperate-breeding geese before migratory populations make their way here.
