(July 22, 1878 – August 1942) was a Polish-Jewish children's author, and pediatrician known as Pan Doktor
(Mr Doctor) or Stary Doktor (Old Doctor). After spending many years working in an orphanage, he refused freedom and stayed with the children who were sent
to Treblinka- the extermination camp.
