OK... now imagine the size of the door!

Douz, Tunisia

I have really no idea what this monument stands for,
but it stood right on the edge of the Sahara desert and that makes it cool in my book.

It is a giant key, hence the witty name.
With a little help from a certain search engine, I learned the significance of the monument.
The city of Douz is known as the door to the desert, and the giant key celebrates that fact.
I’m blaming this particular omission in my culture on the guide (that’s my story and I’m sticking with it).

It looks like a giant KEY.
