Down to the river

Lisboa, Portugal

After enjoying the (lack of) image quality of the Sony DCR-TRV30E, I decided to get a Canon Powershot G5.
I took this picture on my first walk through town. It's of the 'Ascensor da Bica', one of the funiculars still in operation in Lisboa.
These icons have been in service in their current form since the 1930s.

Thank you both for your kind comments.

As for your question Carlos the honest answer is that, I cheated. I post-processed the sky applying a curve with greater contrast to it. You can see how the original looked here:http://www.pbase.com/image/54518129
The photo was shot in manual mode, so I guess I used my eye to do the metering with the help of the live preview from the LCD screen. Definitely the thing I miss the most about using this camera.

Great image and very well done. I suppose it is a hard image to get because the lights and shadows and you fot well exposed both (Shadows and hight lights)
What kind of metering did you use?

Great subject looks fantastic!!

Great mixture of historic Lisbon and elevator with modern "graffiti" on it.
