Pushkar is a small, touristy, yet magical desert-edged town in Rajasthan. The town clusters around the holy Pushkar lake, said to have appeared when Brahma dropped a lotus flower, and is an important Hindu pilgrimage destination. It is here that one can find one of the world’s few Brahma temples. Pushkar is a place where time stands still yet still manages to evaporate fugaciously. Although laid back, Pushkar never lacks excitement or festivity. Upon arrival, 122 weddings were taking place simultaneously and the merriment continued for several days. Then there was the Flower festival, an Odissa Dance performance and the indelible revelry of Holi – the festival of Colour!
