In the mid/late 80s I discovered this picture hanging on a wall in an expensive gallery on Maui, Hawaii. I went by it a few times before it struck me what it was. The original was quite large. I don't know the artist's name, but I think he was Italian. I hope he doesn't want to sue me for showing this picture. The title is "Leone Innamorato" or Lion Baby (if my Italian is more-or-less correct). 5/2/03 I am informed by someone literate in Italian that the title is really "The lion in love".

I scanned the picture from one of those postcards they give away in galleries and I can't even find that anymore. Sorry. For me its a pretty striking representation of Ayla, Baby, and their world. I put it up here because as I surfed thru the Earth's Children sites I saw very little art.

If the artist finds this and is offended, I'll be happy to remove it or give proper attribution, whichever he prefers.
