Thanks Daniella. I read on the following link that they can have yellow or orange legs. http://www.nhptv.org/natureworks/greenheron.htm On the Cornell All About Birds website they show a photo of an immature bird with black coloured legs. Not really sure of the significance between leg colour and age.

really nice colors. I don't remember those in California having such striking leg colors so this one must be in good breeding condition.
