I was using someone else's thermal monocular and it shows the owl loses most of its heat via it's head (face). The image thru the thermal monoscope shows the owl's face lit up bright red, an area that shows a lot of radiating heat. I think the body feathers offer the most insulation on this owl. Is SNOW a good insulator?
