The chase started some distance away and ended up here. Fox waits patiently for the groundhog to move. What I didn't know and neither did the fox, the groundhop was right in front of iuts burrow. Any sudden movement and down the hole goes the groundhog.

Groundhog is missing some fur on the top as the fox got very close to it and may have taken a swat or bite. Only the branches and brush that was in the way prevented the groundhog's capture.

As a wildlife photogapher, it's moments like this that I live for.
