Happily nestled in this hole until a hairy woodpecker flew over to have a look. The woodpecker stuck its head right into the hole.

The hole is just the right size that from 10 feet away, the owl blends into the bark so well it's hard to spot.

The Hairy Woodpecker probably made the hole and the Eastern Screech Owl is a 'squatter' - - this one looks sleepy
