On my way to check out a rumoured Snowy Owl, I saw what appeared to be a road kill Eastern Kingbird on the gravel shoulder of the road exactly as pictured here. Then it flopped around and saw its legs moving. No external damage was visible. Decided to take it to the Wild Bird Care Centre on Moodie Drive. Will have to leave the snowy owl for another time.
Many vehicles likely do not heed the safe community speed limit. Right about here is when those who do, start to speed up. Vehicle bird kills normally take place at high speeds. At about 50 to 60km an hour birds usually can get out of the way.
