A number of us enjoyed seeing the Boreal Owl again today at the Fletcher Wildlife Gardens. It was roosting in a spot that had branches and other obstructions in the way. Such is life. The only times the owl would open its eyes was when a dog or dogs would happen by. Mostly it just slept. But a lot of dogs came by including three at once. Sure enough, soon as a dog comes by, the owl becomes very alert and eyes wide open. Should we outlaw dogs at this location? Of course not.
