We watched as the Hawk Owl flew down into the snow to catch a rodent. The owl consumed the just caught prey on the wires above. The rodent was still very much alive until the owl bit down on the back of its neck. Here it is about to tear the head off. Wish I had returned to my car to retrieve the flash for this heavily backlit scene.
