Follow the road from Hilo to Hamakua Coast, turn into Old Mamalahoa Hwy to find the Tropical Botanical Garden. The address is: 27-717 Old Mamalahoa Highway, Papaikou, Hi 96781. Visitors center is on the opposite side of the road. Path toward the garden leads steep down. On the way back some people may need help going uphill. For $5, Golf Cart can transport visitors uphill.

This is clearly one of the most lush gardens which we have seen. Kaua'i is called "The Garden Island", in reality this garden trumps with ease anything that's on Kauai! Visitors will find waterfalls, a Hawaiian Ki'i, old burial grounds, vistas at Onomea Bay, and more. Insect repellent strongly recommended!
