Our first stop of the day was this graceful curve at MP 93.0 with Square Butte in the background. Square Butte
was a prominent feature in many of the paintings by consummate western artist Charles Marion Russell who
cowboyed here in the Judith Basin during the 1880s. By design his and the railway's initials are the same.
Charlie signed all his paintings "C.M.Russell" augmented with a cow skull, a flourish that the CMR has cleverly borrowed.
