A downturn in the economy prompted Canadian Pacific to rearrange their schedules on the Nelson, Boundary
and Rossland Subdivisions for several months in 2009. The daily Nelson-Cranbrook train ran every second day
as well as the Nelson-Trail job, eliminating the need for one crew. The usually nocturnal Nelson-Cranbrook move
ran in daylight for the first time in 20 years, departing Nelson at 08:30. The scenic highlight of this line is the
2631 foot long Kootenay River Bridge.
