I'm always curious as to where the Carolina Wrens will nest at my place. They prefer a dry place and usually nest on the front or back porch. They've nested in the barn, in a shed, under the hood of a tractor or lawnmower. These 'truck' photos really surprised me. Their plan was to build their nest in a gap between the side of the truck and the bed liner since the tailgate was down. I decided, that on so many levels this was not a good idea, so I made sure no birds were in the liner, then closed the tailgate. Within hours, they began to nest on the front porch....much better!!! At least, I assume it is the same pair, as I do not see an upset pair over by the truck.
Birds are ever optimistic, as I guess are all animals, a recent walk through our harbour found a pair of swallows nesting in the open end of a main sail boom. This is not going to end well. I truly admire the caliber of your images.
