Rescued Juvenile Sharp-shinned Hawk

I received a call that a hawk had hit a store front window in town. I transport injured raptors to two raptor rehabilitators in my area or to the zoo vet who tends to their injuries. The store manager thought the hawk was dead until he nudged it with his foot and it flopped over on its back. When I arrived, the hawk was in one box that was placed inside another box and it was very much AWAKE. I placed my raptor gloves into the opening of the box and brought it home. As I was transferring the hawk into something more secure, it swiftly escaped and flew to a tree in my back yard. It remained there for over 3 hours (thus the photo opportunity) before flying to three different trees in my yard. It then flew across my pasture and into the woods. I have seen it several times since. It had some blood around its beak but I believe was just stunned and needed a quiet place to recuperate.
