Question Mark Butterfly and chrysalis. I saw the chrysalis 'vibrating' on some ivy in my yard. Unsure of what it was, I brought the ivy stem in the house to photograph it. I Googled 'vibrating chrysalis' and came up with he Question Mark Butterfly. Nature is pretty amazing. Apparently, the chrysalis will vibrate if it senses 'danger'. I put the chrysalis in a 'hatching cage' and the butterfly emerged from the chrysalis the next day.
