Bird nest and nesting material

Life with dogs here has one major advantage in the spring. The birds love to gather dog hair to add to their nests. I've seen Titmice and Chickadees in the yard or on the back porch gathering up hair to the point of looking like they have long whiskers sticking out the sides of their mouths. I hung a wire suet basket on the back porch and packed it with downy undercoat that I comb or blow out of the dogs' coats with the dog dryer. From the looks of the basket (no longer neatly packed) the birds have been visiting it and pulling hair from it. The Chickadee box looks nice and warm, lined with Bernese fur. They seemed to have preferred the white downy chest hairs. I've also included a photo of a Wren's nest that is in an old crock on the back porch.
