It begins. The trail heads down this old forest road from the parking area off FR139A. This is an obviously closed road. The forest service (I guess) has spaced several large mounds of dirt on the left side to discourage automobile travel on this old road.

There were several downed trees along the trail. This one displayed a very interesting grain structure in the roots.

There were many areas of heavy floor covering with lush vegetation along the trail.
