fouling our nest

humankind, products of this earth, have fouled their nest in so many ways, trashing the surface, lacing oceans with toxins, and filling the atmosphere with even more nasty chemicals...Earth Day 2026 is one to think on...what's next in the global evolution?

And sadly, they also seem to be in a disordered array. I would still find things to photograph there. ~BV~

This is not an uncommon sight that I often see especially in some farming areas. Farm machinery and old abandoned cars that are easier left in place than making an effort to remove them. Great calamity in your capture not uncertain (mostly bad) clarity the damage this does to nature. VV

I have never understood why so many farmers, who make their living from the land, have so little regard for it!
Thank you for this powerful reminder!

The detritus of human endeavor makes for a sad monument. The beauty of earth and sky shines through here nonetheless.

That's true. What's next yes but there is now a consciousness that was not there 40 years ago that leaves some hopes. At least in Europe collection and recycling of such wrecks is well organized although not perfect and although on a pure photographic point of view I am sometimes dreaming of stumbling upon a huge wrecks collection. I should come in Canada and US Hahahahah

It’s only to get worse with the Trump administration getting rid of so many environmental protections. A fascinating display so well captured. V

A striking image that serves as a stark reminder of the long-term impact of the "disposable" era....V

How can we even afford to waste so much? But actually, we can't afford it.

Absolutely, we have done a poor job of preserving our home. A fitting image to illustrate your words, especially on Earth Day.
