as the canoes raced around the course it became clear some crews were more focussed and adept, eventually outstripping their competitors

Ha, the canoes all seemed to be moving in different directions ... maybe the organizers should have split the rescue crew into a number of smaller boats to follow the individual canoes instead of locating them all in one big zodiac, lol! Nice candid shot. V
