infestation

Astoria, Oregon

an infestation of Scotch Broom will eventually sweep several old oil tankers from view down near the river...in the meantime, the colours here seemed to correspond

Vile weed! Well, at least the blossoms match the colour of the lettering.

Good spot sir, I like the connection made by the yellows

A photo-worthy find for sure!!! Great yellows throughout. V

It is amazing to see the yellow in nature and man made in a strange harmony!

I did not know about this invasive plant.

Scotch broom - determined to inevitably take over the NW world.

...And if the infestation was the old tankers... This is the right place for nature not for the trucks !

Just stunning David! I love it even more seeing it in pictures than I did when I was there. ~VVV~

Strange that old tanks are left to rot in the environment ! The broom does take away what would otherwise be an ugly scene :)

Neat shot David. Beats me why these old vehicles/trucks are just left to rust away. Why not dispose of them and recycle the metal.

There are so many declared invasive plants I find it difficult to keep track of them all.
even tho invasive this plant juxtaposed with the tanker makes an exceptionally pretty image.

The broom is so pretty that it is too bad it is such an invasive, but meantime, as you say, it colour coordinates with this old tank! V

New life taking over the abandoned tanker is a lovely and compelling sight. V

A fine find and composition. Like how the yellow writing of the tank is echoed by the flowers.

Reclamation begins, though it will take some time. The oil tank has a nostalgic air about it but I'm rooting for the shrub, ;-)

An interesting scene, and good eye to have seen the color coordination.

Well seen and shot

overgrowth made for a fine setting for this old & forgotten tank! VVV
