cold on the heels

West End

hot, or rather cold on the heels of the record breaking rainstorm, a windstorm swept across the region, bringing cold air and blue skies, and the inevitable large scale debris from the Arctic gusts

the West End is a residential zone with many apartment towers immediately adjacent to downtown...this particular spot is Sunset Beach

I like how you quantify this beached boat as 'large scale debris' :o)
Arnie Peterschmidt20-Nov-2021 04:27
I hope someone is able to rescue this tired old sailor while it still floats.
Julie Oldfield19-Nov-2021 23:16
It seems like a shipwreck from long ago and an interesting contrast to the skidoo and modern buildings. V
Jan Bakker19-Nov-2021 16:37
Nice contrast between the jetski and then old boat. Well seen! v.

Like your composition with these contrasts. Like the old sailboat. Good time to do some cleaning of the hull.
Hank Vander Velde19-Nov-2021 14:04
Interesting, well seen image of the old boat and modern seado against the city-scape background.

A dynamic contrast with the beached and decayed sail boat and the contemporary skyline. The diagonals created by the leaning mast and ropes, add energy being layered over the verticals of the buildings. Nicely composed and framed. VV

A cool contrast of the locale! But enough of that rain, right?

It makes a strange scene !

Looks like someone's making sure it doesn't get washed out to sea again ! Neat find ! V

Nice juxtaposition, the derelict boat with the modern buildings behind.
some will have a project on their hands.

The sea can be so destructive! I'd have to explore that boat. :)
Nirvan Hope19-Nov-2021 00:50
Such a change as the storm moved through - the next day so sunny. Great choice of the tilted boat to show off-kilter destruction left behind.

Those apartments must have great views. That old boat makes a great subject to shoot.
janescottcumming18-Nov-2021 21:48
At least they will be able to clean the bottom of the boat now. Some rough weather out by you lately.
Allan Jay18-Nov-2021 21:29
Extreme weather offer great photo
ops!
Johnny JAG18-Nov-2021 20:47
You are getting some extreme weather! Makes for some great photo ops though.
Helen Betts18-Nov-2021 20:16
Interesting scene, especially near a residential area. I hope that boat didn't wash up on the shore!

nice composition for a good perspective.V.
Colin Storey18-Nov-2021 19:13
Nicely composed coastal scene, seems you are going through a tough time with weather fronts.
Carol E Sandgren18-Nov-2021 18:59
This boat looks like it sunk and was in the water for a long time by the state of it. Wonderful image showing the various textures of wear...or maybe it's decay.

Let the wind provide you prime real estate; until the next record-breaking storm.
