historic

Steveston

a recent visit to the historic Britannia Shipyards proved worthwhile, although the dock right on the river was closed, so there was no getting close to vintage boats

for the ornithologically inclined, that is a rare Cedar Heron in the foreground

You did well to capture that rather static heron...just as well you used a fast shutter speed :o)

Still a nice view into the historic shipyard, first time I've seen that rare Cedar Heron however:) V

Must be rare, I have never seen one on the East Coast. Cool looking old boat.

Your heron fits perfectly into the scene - rare indeed :) V

Nice heron sculpture feeling lonely and is about to take off :)...the colors from the boat's funnel and flag add a nice touch to this composition...V

The cedar heron is definitely a rare find. The old charming boat adds a lot of character to the scene. V

Too bad you couldn't get close to the old boats, but you still got a great capture of this one. I kept looking for a bird in the picture until I finally saw the extremely rare cedar heron ;-).

The "heron" caught my eye immediately and is the star of the show.
