black bears and cougars live in the forests around Sasamat Lake, and can be dangerous...not to worry, there is also a good supply of sword ferns, handy weapons if there is need to mount a defense

Nice view of this dense vegetation with this lighting. Where there are bears and cougars, there are probably other surprises as well.

I think the bears might try and eat your weapon and the cougars, well they love playing with feathers and those ferns look kind of like feathers. Good luck if you encounter any wild things!
