impact

Los Angeles, Chile

today is World Environment Day, meant to promote awareness and action on our challenged environment..humankind's impact on the planet, and excessive consumption, have pushed the envelope too much already, so the time to reverse dangerous trends is now

a United Nations sponsored undertaking, the message is clear...the importance of a 'Mundo Verde'...if we keep the earth green, life will continue, but if we persist with current practice, then we are all toast

Materialism + short term thinking (built into capitalism) + too many people = trouble ahead.

Overpopulation is the culprit IMHO V

I’m not very hopeful that things will change. We are on a roller coaster when it comes to the impact the politicians have on our environment. V

I agree, the sign hemmed in by wires is a tragic image of what we're doing to the planet...I'm sad for our children and future generations :o(

Lots of green here but its only paint. Things are getting worse.

All the power lines make the point.

You made a very evocative image to tell the message.
The color, the tree and the preponderance of lines are all powerful elements.

Even with the green crown of palms, the "mondo verde" seems to be trapped in a network of lines...V.

We need more people like Greta Thunberg making a lot of noise. Your shot gets the message across ! V

A very nice message and green photo.

I love this image with all the power lines. Once human kind perishes the earth will be
beautiful once again.

Well said David, but I fear our efforts are much wanting. Ban one token plastic and five others pop up. How do we stop that?

Mmmmm toast. Humankind's impact has now generate the entering of the next great epoch - Anthropocene. I fear we've long past the tipping point..had we only been more persistent when you snapped this shot.

Great contrast between the invitation of the sign and the plethora of wires that probably are part of the problem!

I hope we haven’t waited too long to reverse the damage. Interesting image with the shadows and lines.

Climate change issue for a lot of people/governments it’s still an long term issue which does’nt affect them in them in their daily doings so far.

Like the tones and wires. I think we're toast already.

Great find, and well captured. I wish more people would pay attention to the message before it's too late.
