rusting

Langley

at this farm hay was first grown as a crop, and later to support the switch to dairy farming...idle in a field sits an old hay loader, quietly rusting away

the full frontal wide shot of this is boring, but on youtube there are videos showing such a hay loader in action...an OK one is one titled Hay For The Goats At Little Falls Farm

A simple design, but so ingenious. I like the framing by the weeds and view into the distance. V

With the mechanism exposed one can actually see how it works. V

It would take a lot of WD40 to get this going again...

Well composed with lots of interest in the shadow play and the colors of the rust.

I am always impressed as the ingenuity that goes into the manufacture of old farm equipment. So sad to see it rusting. It deserves a better fate. V
