bonfires

Sumas Prairie

on the western side are foothills of the Coast Mountains...at this time of year many farms had bonfires, burning off leaves and other dead plant material accumulated over winter

I’ve seen that in NY. A lovely country capture. V

Nice flat land for farming with a scenic background. V

The structures and rising streams of smoke provide scale to the majestic scenery.

I love this composition!
It is a bucolic scene that I really appreciate.
I hope the people doing this burning know what they are doing and don't cause a catastrophe.

A very well composed image.

a beautiful view of this village leaning against the mountain, all these burns if they are not under control could start a fire. V

A lovely scene here David, I like the gentle top left-bottom right composition

I like how the red barn adds a touch of colour to the scene.

A fine rural scene against the mountain. Too bad they don't use the leaves etc for compost...

A nice image against the mountain background David. With current concerns for global warming, I'm not sure the burning of leaves should be allowed.

There is a lot of burn-off going on here in Texas and it bothers me, like an allergy. Love these big tree covered mountains and this is well composed.

The coast mountains are lot different looking than the mountains you showed yesterday. Each pretty in it’s own way.

An interesting scene with all those fires, but nicely captured.

Brush burning drives me nuts, but it is necessary to prevent the buildup of deadwood. Our neighborhood hires a crew every spring to gather and chip our brush, but I suppose this is not practical for lots of people.

The bonfires will be an environmental issue nin the near future I think. Nice view and capture V!
