enshrouded

now you see it, now you don't...behind the distant freighters many buildings on West Vancouver's shoreline should be visible, but are currently enshrouded by the smoky air

It is a shame the atmospheric look is smoke instead of fog. Even so I like the play of light on the conditions you were dealing with, the mood and the feeling of exceptional depth. I hope the fires do not continue north and that the air clears in your area. V+

The smoke is far reaching and adds an interesting mood. I like the composition.

Cool shot with this long focal length. Does look quite smoky and hazy.

Marcia is right, the fires do make for some really interesting images. Good one here!

These fires are awful, but I have to admit they make for surreal images!

This is another powerful way of telling this story.
This has a powerful feeling.
Even here in the middle of the country we have orange skies at dusk from the fires. Hard to imagine it out there.

beautiful composition with the jetty jutting out into the sea, in the distance we can see the liners but there is still a little smoke in the air. V

Ghostly glimmers with pale tones as on the face of a sick person...V.

It is still a great capture. Let’s hope things will sort themselves out and the fires are put out.

Hopefully the north wind will clear out the smoke for you.

I heard that the smoke from fires further south were hitting the BC coast... your photo really shows the impact. Not a happy sight.

That's really pretty scary. I hope the forecast as reported by Don is correct.
Don Mottershead12-Sep-2020 23:19
An ominous sight. The forecasts are for clearer skies on Monday. Let's hope so.
