liberator

Mountain View Cemetery

these are a fraction of the 5,000,000 Red Liberator tulips, brought over to Canada from Holland by the Dutch Canadian community, to express their thanks for the Canadian-led liberation of the Netherlands during WW2...as luck would have it they were well in bloom for VE day...over 7.600 Canadians died during the fight, and on the 75th anniversary of the liberation, they have not been forgotten

It's a beautiful photo, David and this tradition reinforces the strong, enduring ties between our two countries. We must ensure that all of our service men and women are not forgotten.

Beautiful colors.. I like the composition. I hope those lost are never forgotten. I saw a very neglected grave of a young soldier killed in WWI. It struck me as so sad. V

So thick and colorful along the path. Including the girl is a great idea. V
