afloat

Finn Slough, Richmond

a sign tells of a fund raising appeal to help keep the Eva, a craft with community history, afloat...once owned by Finnish fisherman Gus Jacobson, it certainly appeared salvageable

the Eva is a wooden gillnetter built in 1937..it was powered by a locally made Easthope two cylinder engine, and built from local western red cedar, yellow cedar, and Douglas fir

Detailed shot David as one trials their eyes over the scene. A lot of history just sitting right there too; shame to lose it.

A true BC boat made with lumber from all those local trees. A fine shot, encapsulating again the uniqueness of this charming place.

Here’s hoping they are successful with
the fund raising. Super find.

They used the best wood for it and it would be a pity if it weren't renovated. Well seen here. "V"
