clean air

the air is cleaner these days, with fewer vehicles on the road, less airplane traffic, and no cruise ships in port...at Canada Place there are usually some of those floating hotels tied up, all the while spewing pollution into the local atmosphere...hopefully the cruise industry is the last to re-open

One place in Vancouver that I have definitely been to - back in 1997. Too bad I didn't already know you back then. Wonderful framing and capture of this unique looking place that looks stunning in B&W. ~BV~

Nice perspective on Canada Place. Have you snapped from this vantage point at night?

I like the perspective with the view in the background. I have a feeling things will get back to its usual polluted self. V

Lots of interesting geometry and lovely tones. V

a beautiful building that looks like a floating vessel,
what a beautiful cloudy sky, the air seems to be pure, no concentration of polluting particles.

There's drop in air pollutants from fewer cars and exhaust from factories, time to enjoy the fresh air while it lasts...marvelous composition with that great sky..V

Stunning shot of Canada Place - let's hope this episode will bring some good changes. V

An industry I've never been too fond of, but it did mean needed economic activity for certain communities.

I love all of these tones of b/w and that is a really gorgeous sky!

Hard to know what will happen with the cruise ship industry. The ships might have to become cheap living spaces for those can no longer pay their rent or mortgage.

The clouds are beautifully rendered. One of the side benefits may be that when things get back to normal, we will slow down to give the environment a break. V

Yes, I guess the earth is benefiting from us moving about a lot less. Love the tones in this shot.

It's always about the almighty dollar:( …"Boo to greed" vv

Clear skies and clean air are very welcome, I share your views on cruise ships.

nice perspective in B/W...V

Beautiful well composed image David. Like you, I think the cruise industry should be one of the last to re-open.

An admirable range of tones and composition. I suspect that the cruise company and passengers add money to the coffers. "You can't make an omelet without breaking an egg". I do understand the feeling. I was raised in a tourist town next to beaches.

A fascinating B&W image of this ship-like construction! V
Concerning the tall cruise ships I hope those floating prisons are indeed banned

Superb photo of Canada Place. This view, as you have said, is usually obstructed by a massive cruise ship. Great to see this.

An impressive "floating hotel" of this well-composed image. Hope this kind of ship will not be built anymore : too much pollution and surely helping a wide epidemic spread like today...V.

Nice perspective and choice of tones. Blends in well with the clouds in the background. Like the way this pier looks like a ship.
Knowing our crazy government, they'll probably bail out the cruise ship industry. BTW: We currently have four cruise ships "stranded" here.
