squatters

Maplewood Flats, North Vancouver

in the past squatters lived on the mudflats in shacks like these models...nearby in Dollarton, during the 1940s-50s, author Malcolm Lowry spent years in such a place while completing his manuscript for Under The Volcano

Those are very photogenic, possibly more so than the real ones were. It does look very realistic though. Stellar image which makes it look real. ~BV~

It looks idyllic but I do not see any: power, running water or sewage lines. So it must still be roughing it. Great composition. V

What a neat find! There are still folks living like this along the Mississippi river here in Minnesota.

Very cool. A really lovely sharp shot of these picturesque cabins. I'd forgotten that Lowry spent his time in a similar situation white writing his classic. V

I knew the trees on the coast were big - but WOW!
You've perfectly fooled the quick eye into a mind-altered view.

Just outstanding, David, stellar shot.

Fascinating to see. I like the perspective, setting and clear reflections. Interesting that one of my favorite novels was written there. So far removed from the location in "Under the Volcano". "V"

Not much protection from the elements, but definitely a waterside view

A wonderful image! A great place to complete a manuscript, not too many visitors!

Great models of the shacks and wonderful reflection of them.
