climate change

climate change is a big factor in what has been identified as the worst commercial fishing season in 50 years...numbers are down for all salmon species and in all regions...it seems the warming ocean waters will drive the surviving fish north to Alaska...good news for that fleet of fishers

Nice waterfront photograph. Salmon runs in Washington are declining too, probably time to suspend fishing for a while.

In the US, political survival for many seems to depend on supporting those who claim climate warming is a hoax, which is a popular word with certain people in Washington. A wonderful capture with the vertical format, great reflections and tail masts. VV

It is a devastating situation we are facing. I wish the powers that be felt the same way. The lines are excellent. V

Nice composition. And yes, the fish situation is bleak.

a beautiful harbor scene, beautiful reflections and fine gray tones.
global warming is undeniable and has already had observable effects on the environment. V

Superb reflections ! It seems that nano plastics spread all over the oceans do not discourage fishermen. People continue to live as if everything were as before! The grey mood of the image matches with this situation...V.

Beautiful with those masts reflecting in the water. Good news for Alaska at least.

If climate change is man-induced, then we are in for catastrophic changes to our comfortable lives, since in my view, the NIMBY syndrome is alive and well including, maybe especially, in the mindset of our politicians.

I have been reading the recent consequences oof climate change and this is a stark example.

I've seen very few salmon in local creeks this year. Sad. Many fishermen now from here fish in Alaska.

Nice how the masts are reflected on the water. V

I love harbour images and this one is terrific, the reflection is lovely. A terrible situation for marine life and those dependent on it.

Climate change seems to be plaguing your area!!

A great capture of the fishing fleet, but alarming news. Not that anybody in power here cares about that.

A wondrous complexity with nice reflections. My kind of subject matter. "V"
