realized the #1 hiking boots have had no weather proofing oil since September's Oregon adventure, so gave them a fresh slathering for the upcoming excursion...found a relevant map too..however, not sure if I will bring along the old stereoscope, despite the attractions of 3D pix

The boots look ready to go and the map seems like a good idea. Maybe you should bring the colorful throw in case you get separated from your travel mates. They would surely find you if you waved it around. Love the colors! (Are you sure you don't want to get a brand new battery for the trip?)
