Horseshoe Bend, Arizona

had hoped that next month's trip to the Southwest would offer warmer and drier weather...turns out that may not be so, with conditions on the Colorado Plateau likely colder than here in the PNW...perhaps not t-shirt days in the end

here are Sam and Dan in earlier days, although next time we meet might well be in an even cosier micro-brewery...just sayin'

You might not want to lie down on the rocks if the weather is that cold. Gill is right - the forecasts change all the time. Too early to tell but best to be prepared.

Better than the tundra like northeast. A great capture of these intrepid photographers. V

Great capture in warmer times.

Great image of both, like Sam with his glass ball in view.
Walter Otto Koenig09-Jan-2019 18:14
Cool shot of Sam keeping his eye on the ball!

The dangerous life of photographers :) ! Should be great to travel through such stunning places...V.

I suspect the glass sphere helped create an amazing image. Crawling up to the edge was how I photographed Horseshoe Bend and I did not have a glass sphere. Great capture and I hope the weather works for you on your trip. I would be OK with cold weather if there was snow in the southwest. V+

Great capture of this photographer at work, but looks like a scary vantage point to me.

Yeah! It's looking cold and snowy now but it can turn on a dime ans warm up! Was just through that country and they really need the rain and snow.
Bryan Murahashi09-Jan-2019 05:03
You may see some snow. But no rain.
Dan Greenberg09-Jan-2019 02:39
I recognize both the guys. Warm weather certainly makes those kind of shots more doable. I would never have laid down there like I did if had been 33F.
Hank Vander Velde09-Jan-2019 02:37
Great shot of this pair of Pbasers hard at work Dan.
Gill Kopy09-Jan-2019 02:01
Only mad men and photographers :) My experience is that the forecasts are never correct until the current day !!
Dennis Hoyne09-Jan-2019 01:35
Things have been cool in the SW this season. Nice shot!
Glenn Dean (Vatorman)09-Jan-2019 01:12
Sam; willing to chance the loss of his balls...
(Co-worker just returned from AZ and its 33F (ing) degrees)
Don Mottershead09-Jan-2019 01:00
That ball is living dangerously.
(The only way I could get that shot is with a tilty screen. Too much bending for me.)

Nice candid of men at work!
