rickety

along Hwy 197 north of Maupin, Oregon

a farm in transition it would seem....the buildings abandoned and rickety, yet fresh hay bales were stacked up, and a farmer busy on his tractor in an adjacent field

Just a little bit.
Beautiful find and a great capture. BV

A half dozen of those bales probably weigh more than the house. V

We see this a lot now. The family has moved on, and most likely leased land to a big farming conglomerate. I love the character of old places as the decay. V

Fabulous shot David - a home with a lot of history and so cool with the hay bales - nicely composed. V
Hank Vander Velde12-Oct-2018 23:45
Great image David, but one would think that during slow times, the farmer could level this somewhat dangerous eyesore.

Such a great capture, the colour tones are gorgeous and the little old house is very attractive. V

Definitely better to inside rather than outside. Excellent portrayal of its exquisite state of decay. ~BV~

Such and interesting structure, But for the roof and chimney it's standing sturdy and straight, nicely juxtaposed with that pile of freshly cut hay bales. V

What a contrast between the old dilapidated building and the fresh bales of hay. "V"

Love the contrasts here with the abandoned structure and the freshly stacked hay. Also love the chimney. We see some like that here, usually after an earthquake.

Fascinating image. (But don't stand under that chimney!) V

Probably the farmer built a new house... An intriguing image David! V

Still in the farming business even though the buildings look rough. Excellent catch, David. V

That one chimney looks like it is not long for this world. Interesting to see all the hay so neatly stacked.

Great capture of this old farm. I wonder if it will be restored someday. !V
Fong Lam12-Oct-2018 15:41
Looks like this farm is enjoying a prolific harvest...perhaps a new building is in the offing..
and I dread that chimney may fall off soon...an excellent capture...V

A fine composition with the evidence of farming in view. I guess it's not necessary to actually live on the farm for it to function.
