Spanish Banks

an extreme low tide today meant it was possible to walk out on the exposed sea floor, and a long way from the beach...the freshly open sandy area here is immense

How often does this occur, David? Is it a rare occurrence? Sure opens up the area. Vote.

That's amazing, does the tide come back in quickly?

One can almost walk out to touch the tankers. V

I never saw a low tide effect as large. It must have been interesting and possibly unsettling walking so far from the beach

Quite stunning, excellent low shot for the best perspective. The wide and very low tides reminds me of the north sea coast, just need some sand dunes! V

Great perspective, a little sad without the see. V

Looks like that would be a fascinating place to walk around, although I wonder why the tide was so extremely low.

Amazing that it went down so far! What was the reason?

A wonderful big wide beach to wander! Tides around (not that different than where you are, seem to be most extreme in January and June...)
Carol How05-Jun-2016 02:48
Wow - that does look really far out! I like how some of the seagrass appears almost as fish or shadowy forms. V

This looks a perfect spot to ramble. I don't ever recall seeing such a low tide there, but how enticing it would be to walk this area. V

How wonderful to wade through the pools on a beautiful day on a wide open beach !!

Wow, very cool!! Why such an extremely low tide?

Wow, I've never seen a tide that low during my visits. Lovely shot, David, I like the low perspective.
