it was a delight to spot this ash tree in autumn splendour today...the tower is part of Ryerson United Church, built 1927, in the Kerrisdale (named after Kerrydale, Scotland) district...Christian mythology tells of the snake that tempted Eve, but this congregation should be safe from temptation, as 'traditional wisdom suggests that rattlesnakes will not crawl over an Oregon Ash stick, and areas where this tree grows are free from poisonous snakes' (according to Plants of Coastal British Columbia)...sure enough, corporate honchos aside, there are no venomous serpents hereabouts
