densification

glass towers are not to everyone's taste, yet there is a rationale behind the cluster of them here...when the former industrial lands were cleaned up, then opened for development, city officials demanded a certain minimum number of suites be built, adopting a guiding principle of urban densification...the idea was to ensure a lot of housing at the edge of downtown, meaning people could walk or cycle to work, thereby reducing car traffic in the downtown core

I am no fan of glass towers! But I understand the rationale, and sometimes building up is much better ecologically speaking, than sprawling out. However, this is a gorgeous shot! V

Interesting idea. But lets hope those beautiful trees aren't on borrowed time with further densification.

I like the idea of being able to walk or cycle to work, but I couldn't live in a place like that - no matter how crisp and clean it looks

I like urban living, so it is definitely a good idea particularly with the nearby water. Your POV let us see the advantages of this place, well seen. V

Sounds like a reasonable idea, but I'd prefer my own house. Still, excellent capture with an interesting combination of towers, water and nature. V.
