torch

yesterday's dash across the Salish Sea to Victoria was really about a 'passing of the torch'...in a recent phone call my grand-daughter Molly, at 15 already a digital veteran, had revealed to me that she had been shooting with disposable film cameras for the last year, loved the look of film, but longed for better equipment...well, it was was easy to help out, so have now given her the Nikon F80, bought a decade ago, and this 28-200mm lens, to provide her with better gear...on a seaside walk together she seemed to have grasped the basics quite quickly...it will be interesting to see how she fares with this set-up over the rest of the year...perhaps will then offer her other lens options tucked away in the closet

Nikon D90
Nikkor 16-85mm = 1/640s f/8.0 at 45.0mm iso800 full exif

other sizes: small medium large auto

Nice story, David. I am sure she was thrilled to have the gear --- I know I would have been at that age.

Always such a treat when someone in the family takes an interest in something you have always loved. How wonderful you were able to hand down your camera to this aspiring photographer. She is a cutie! Hope to see some of her work.
