diminishing

not caring for malls or the chain stores they feature, instead I support a lot of smaller shops found mostly on tree-lined streets...the quest for a new shower curtain here was frustrated by the fact that the bath shop no longer exists, perhaps having lost too much business to those very malls..then I noticed the falling cherry blossoms, tried for a shot, and completely failed to catch a single wind-blown petal..diminishing returns these last few days

This is a nice shady street lined with charming convenience stores, so lovely with the pink petals on the pavement...
Perhaps your bath shop has upgraded and moved to the mall :) V

It is kind of boring to go to the mall when you could be shopping in a pretty scene like this. Lovely with all the pink petals spread about. V

Love the story, David.
We still have a few small towns where the shops are mainly small 'independents'. They make a refreshing change to those dominated by the big chain stores!

The street looks very pretty decorated with blossoms. It is so much more enjoyable shopping at these neighborhood stores than in the big impersonal malls. V

Strong perspective down this pink street. Looks like you could have bought yourself some Legos in this store. "V"

But it's a great street scene with the blossoms on the sidewalk and the store fronts and shoppers. You've captured a real small town feel here. Sorry to hear the stores aren't doing well. V.

A most attractive street scene. The petals look like pink snow.

Good try with the blossom, short of shaking the tree there isn;t much you can do :0)
It still looks good in the branches and on the floor ... and that toy shop looks like it could be real fun!!!!
